Handcrafts

We make a variety of handcrafts including rattles and woven fabrics but our main activity is basket weaving.  We make a wide variety of baskets using banana fibre, sorghum straw, papyrus and raffia. We also stock crafts from members of the community as well as associated sites.

Our chairperson would be happy to demonstrate how we make our baskets and give you the opportunity to make your own. If you are a group that wishes to spend time learning how to make baskets with us as a group, please notify us in advance, so we can arrange to be at the site.
